One hundred per cent Americans:
Brigadier General Pelham D. Glassford, Superintendent of Washington, D.C., police got this response on July 13 when he asked a group of war veterans on the Capitol grounds to raise their hands if they had served in France and were one hundred per cent Americans. Glassford, now retired, was there as an army officer. The veterans were at the Capitol urging immediate payment of the soldiers' bonus. Left to right in center are Glassford and Roy W. Robertson, leader of a California group.
