Russie Aviation WWI Alphonse Poiree Farman Dux Lot Photos Anciennes 1914
Lot of 5 vintage anonymous photographs plus a small newspaper clipping about flights Poiree made in Lisieux in May 1914, probably days before he left for Russia where the photos were taken.
The man in the first photo is Poiree's agent, Defrette. Poiree's mechanic, Morin, is seen with Poiree, both standing next to the biplane. Morin's name is also on the back of the larger photo with Poiree and another man in uniform in the biplane but I believe this is actually Raymond Bernet, Poiree's observer, who died in action in February 1917 (see separate lot related to Bernet's death).
