Another Grand for Chromatics!

GP Chromatics Chalcedony (Blue Point Siamese)
Sire: CH Nitelite's Shadow of Chromatics
Dam: Chromatics Celebrity Skin

From Roxanne Giebink

The name "Tutankhamen" is still his name.  What a great personality!  He purrs so much
our son thought about calling him "purr"seous but did not like Percy for short.
He just received his vaccines and was under the weather for a few days.  Now he is
back yowling and eating.  He has started retrieving balls for our son.  He is eating
well and growing.  I think he may be a pretty long cat.  He is a great lap (or I
should say neck and chest) cat.  He is so playful and entertains us for hours.
My kids insist on doing homework with him-----which slows down the process.
At any rate he is the perfect kitten for us.  Thanks.

From Carla and Mike Garrison

Dear Carol,

The "SHAMAN" has cast his spell on us! Thank-you for such a beautiful ebony boy.
It is a privilege to be owned by such a wonderful guy...

We are forever indebted. Hope to see you soon!

hi ya just wondering do ya know much about siamese recently bought a chocolate point
tabby siamese off of a lady he's a lovely little thing the lady told my mum they all
have cross eyes as he does but when she got home i came on the net to find out more
and it says that siamese with cross eyes cant be breed not that it makes any
difference to me but is this true?

From Tricia

I've been looking for a show quality solid black oriental shorthair kitten but I gather
you are in Florida I am in BC Canada about 2hrs. from Spokane. I've had no responses
to my e-mails closer to home. Could you recommend a breeder closer? I imagine it is
costly to ship so far from you and perhaps too stressful for a kitten, any advice?

From Marie Rodriquez

I am thanking you everyday of my life for my precious gifts, Rocky and Jules.
I don't know how I could ever live without them, knowing that they bring immense
joy and happiness into my life.

HI CAROL

SO YOU CAN SEND THE PAPERS.

THEY ARE DOING GREAT-ZOIE IS A REAL MUSH-SHE IS THE LOVER-LILY IS THE TROUBLE MAKER-
ALWAYS INTO SOMETHING AND NEVER STILL A MINUTE.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

From Gayl McCormick

I took Charley to the vet this morning to have him fixed. It's going to be just awful
not having him with me. I am so very attached to him and so are the other two cats.
They really, really like him and he likes them. What I wanted to ask will sound crazy,
but I will ask any way. All of my kids hate the name Charley and one of them wants to
know what names are in his family line so I am asking you "what names are in his family
line".
Please let me know. Thanks. Gayl

From Gayl McCormick

Hi, Carol:
He is doing just fine. He never stops running and playing. He has settled in with the
other two who seem to find him quite amusing. He gets in the middle of the cat toy box
and takes things out as fast as I can pick them up so I have decided to stop trying.
He brings me things to throw to him and then he goes and gets them and brings them back.
I took him to my vet and they examined him .... said his weight and everything else seemed
just fine ... Thanks for being at the cat show . He is a joy to be around. When you're
alone, having something to come home to that makes you laugh is so very important.
By the way, his name is Charley. Write me back if and when you can. Thanks.
Gayl

From Dr. Kerry Clark

Dear Carol:
Just a short note to let you know how things are going. Little Indigo ("Indi") is settling
in just great. I'm amazed at how quickly he became acclimated to his new surroundings.
He has been so affectionate and well-behaved.
Indi and Sam (our Himalayan) are taking their time getting used to each other. Sam doesn't
have a mean bone in his body, and is just curious about the little blue thing. Indi is a
little afraid of Sam, which appears to be the only reason they aren't better acquainted
already. Indi slept with me in a separate room the last 2 nights, so as not to encroach
upon Sam's territory too much too soon. I'm not going to leave them alone together in
the house for a couple more days, but they appear fine. Indi also appears quite mature
in that he is fine to be left alone in a room for a several hours. As I was doing some
yard work out back yesterday, he layed on the window ledge and watched me.
I never knew an animal could be so affectionate; he's such a little lover.
Of course, he's sleeping in my lap right now. He has an appointment to be neutered on
Wednesday. I'll send a copy of his vet statement certifying that he has been neutered.
Thank you for allowing us to adopt this little beauty. He has a great loving home here,
and he seems to be very content.
Best wishes,
Kerry

From Sydney Smith

Hi Carol,

The more I see of other Oriental breeders, the more I can appreciate the quality of
your cats. Jade was against 2 other premiers at the Deland show - one of whom is
the son of Plain White Wrapper
- and she beat them consistently.

Not only is she beautiful, but she has the nicest temperament of any cat I know.

Take care,
Sydney

From Roxanne

Dear Carol,

Just to let you know, Tut is a doll.  He is the perfect cat for us.  He now weighs
7 and one half pounds.  We recently had him neutered. Now he is doing fine.
Did not appear to bother him much.  This cat is quite a climber.

Thought I'd update you.  He is so adorable and tolerates all our handling and hugging.
He is the hit of the family.

Thanks for a great cat.

                           Yours,
                           the giebink family

From Annemarie

Hi Carol,
This is Annemarie Lamola, I adopted Nala the black oriental like three years ago and
little boy Simba, like two years ago. They are doing very good. They just love each
other, play, eat and sleep together. Simba has grown alot, and he is beautiful so
is Nala.I think Nala is the dominant and Simba is so gently. I love them so much.
They do very good with Toska the dog. My baby is now 3 years old, and is amazing,
when he cries Nala inmediately goes to kiss him and meaows, so he starts laughing,
he carries her very careful and she loves it. When he goes to bed I hear him opening
the door of his room and calling up Nala, Nala and she runs with him into the room.
Later I go and check and both are sleeping toguether, Nala is at his foot. She is
the Love walking in four legs.
Hope you are doing great.

I just sent you a message, I'm a little curious, which style of siamese is lighter in
colour, sealpoint or bluepoint? Our preference is the colour which is a light
creamy white with medium brown face, tail and paw colouring. If you come across
any information for kittens in our area we would appreciate it.

I am a lover of siamese cats.My girlfriend and I are looking for a sealpoint kitten

If you know any information we would greatly appreciate it, the cat would
not be for breeding just a house cat that we would love dearly.

Hi Carol,
How are you? Minko is doing great! He would have nothing of our idea of keeping him in
one room for a week. He DEMANDED to come out and explore. He now has run of the
house. He uses his litter box eats and drinks good. He has seen all the dogs
and is getting better every time he sees them. He is getting fixed this Friday.
I will let you know how he is doing. I will introduce him to the dogs closer,
one dog at a time. I started with our Malinois. They actually smelled each
other nose to nose. If Minko hisses the Malinois gets scared and leaves the
scene. My dogs are working dogs but they have a soft spot for cats. He is
very affectionate and is starting to follow us around the house. I had no
idea he can play fetch. My daughter is delighted! Thank you for
a special friend!

From Robin (Minton) Page

hello all,

My name is Robin and my mother Martha (Minton) Page was involved with Siamese cats in
the early to mid 70's. I do not remember the name of her cattery, it would
have been located in GA or CA. I remember the name Don Shaw as being a close
friend.

I was hoping that someone out there would remember her as I was young when she
was showing her cats. She has since passed away and I was hoping someone could
share with me memories of this part of her life!! I was not fortunate enough to
have been old enough to remember much. If you know or remember her, I would
love to hear from you.

thanks for your time,

Robin

Your cats are so beautiful, they bring tears to my eyes!
I have 1 oriental shorthair female 1 1/2 yrs. old (choc.
tortie point) Her name is Sasha and she is my baby since I
have no children. She fetches, sleeps under-the-covers right
beside me. When she was at the vets overnite, I had a hard
time getting to sleep because she wasn't there. You other
oriental cat owners know-what-I-mean. These are the most-
intelligent beings imaginable! I am looking for a breeder
somewhere in B.C. Canada, not far from Penticton, B.C. who
can sell me a pet-quality female kitten with dr. br. or bl.
fur. It's fun sharing happy moments of owning these wonder-
ful pets!!!!

My boyfriend and I just bought two SealPoint brothers on 1/22/00.
The last two days have been the best. It is great to watch the two of them play
and follow eachother around. Some people have told me that they
are going to be mean when they get older. Are they going to be roudy or calm.
Does it depend on they're environment. We have a girl cat, (unsure of the type)
she is full grown and. Mugsy and Pugs were so scared when they saw her that they relieved
themselves. Now Pugs is standing up to Katie but Mugsy runs away.
Is it a bad idea to keep Katie around the house.

From Janet Clarke

Hi Carol,
My apoligies for taking so long to update you on Ava.
First of all, many thanks for such a precious pet. She is certainly
the most beautiful cat I have ever seen!
I imagine that you must be in communication with Sandy. She might
have told you that I brought Ava home on Saturday evening. I had a very busy
Thursday & Friday as my children were in a play - they had four performances.
Because of this my mother-in-law was in town; she is not a great cat fan so
I chose not to bring Ava home until my mother-in-law was on her way home.
I did not want any "bad vibes" in the house, you might say.
Ava came home after my two children were in bed so the house was quiet.
Initially I let her out in a small "ante-room" to my master bathroom. As
expected, she was a bit tentative at first. It did not take her long to start
purring, and rubbing, and flipping over to have her belly rubbed! Considering
all of the changes she has been through - I find her to be very brave & quite
confident. I allowed her to have the run of my bedroom the first night; she
spent that night under my bed - cried out twice in the middle of the night,
but did not seek any company.
On Sunday morning my nine-year-old daughter Victoria discovered the
signs of a new family member. I directed her to look under the bed - & she
fell in love!! She soon introduced Ava to my eight-year-old son Evan and he
is just as fond of her. They have been very gentle with her. During the day
we escaped often to my bedroom to spend time with her - and she rewarded us
with much purring and even an occassional lick!
By Monday morning (yesterday) - she would cry when left alone in the
bedroom. Up until that time the other pets in my home knew she was there but
were not overly interested. On Monday morning we introduced her to the rest
of the crew. Eight-month-old Amber (a long haired stray that we recently
adopted) was afraid of her. Ava soon learned that she is easy to chase.
Eighteen-month-old Simon (my siamese "mutt" - his lavendar colored points
have stripes!) has given her a wide berth, which surprises me as he is quite
aggressive & persistant - really a lot of fun! Ava was very bold in her
exploration - I am very proud of her. She spent a lot of time checking the
place out in kind of a crouched position, and is a little skittish if someone
makes a sudden move - but all in all, she has adjusted well. She was in for
a surprise when our four-year-old, seventy-five pound golden retriever found
her, however. Ava's initial reaction was to assume the "very unhappy cat
stance" - complete with back ridge, big tail & hiss. Lucy is very sweet and
was only trying to check her out - within an hour or so Ava was confident
enough with Lucy that they were sniffing each other nose-to-nose.
I am especially pleased that Ava may prove to be my only "lap cat."
This afternoon after I returned from work I picked her up & settled into my
recliner. She curled right up, purred a bit - & we both fell asleep. Life
doesn't get much better than that!!
Thank-you for this addition to our family. I will be happy to keep
you appraised of her progress in settling into our family.
        Warm regards - Janet.

He is doing great! He has established the house as "his" :). He is very

From Sharon Isern

Whenever I open CAT FANCY I look to see who is breeding oriental shorthairs
because one day I intend to own one. Right now my family is too full
for an addition. I have one of Alexy's Abyssinians (which used to be my
favorite breed until I picked up SiSi, a Siamese, from Diane McClanahan.
I didn't intend to buy a kitten when I went to the Cat Show in West Palm
Beach. I had four cats at the time. (Two were over 20 years-old and have
since passed away.) But it was love at first sight. The long nose!
The brilliant blue eyes! And that sleek, thin body! As I got to know my
lovely, thin, elegant SiSi, I knew that some day I have to have a solid
color Oriental Shorthair. But now is not the time since I still have a
third cat, Chloe, a calico I found in a barn. Completing the family is
a black adopted Greyhound named Daphne. She is also thin, long legged,
pointed nose and elegant. The Greyhound is the canine version of the
Oriental Shorthair, I am convinced. Anyway, I enjoyed the great pictures
on your page and dreaming of someday owning another oriental.

I would be interested in adding to my family of one chocolate point 2 year old
female siamese "Sophie May". I am interested in a pet quality blue-point
siamese kitten, either male or female??? (any advice would be helpful, my
2 year old female is spayed, and is an absolute love!) I think once you've
owned a Siamese, they get into your blood, as no other breed of cat will do!!!
Please send prices for 1)show quality, and 2)pet quality . Many many thanks

SIAMESE KITTEN ON THE CAPE!!)

From Stefanie

I too am amazed at the beauty of your cats. I have been a Siamese lover my whole
life and currently own a 7 year old female. She is a mix between a blue
point balinese and a seal point siamese. She is a blue point with a slightly
fluffy coat, somewhere between a bailinse and a siamese texture. Amadeia
has been spayed since she was approximately a year old. I would like to
acquire a pet quality either seal or blue point. I do not know if having
a male or female would be better for my present cat or if I should just
wait until such time (ten more years I hope) Amadeia is no longer with me.
I should also mentioned that Amadeis is very high strung and although
quite loving and lovable a handful. If you could give me advice I would
greatly appreciate it. I would also love some information on your animals
or any breeders you would recommend. Unfortunately, I have had a bad
experience visiting a breeder in New Orleans and as a result learned that
I do not wish to get involved with any breeders who destroy animals
because they are not perfect. I feel very strongly that any cat is perfect
and spaying and nutering is preferable to any other means of managing the
breed.

From Rose   (http://www.buffnet.net/~rosek)

I need some advice! As a child, I had a very sweet sealpoint Siamese kitty.
I loved her with all my heart and have always wished I could have another
like her. I am now married with a seven month old baby and my husband thought
it would be a nice surprise to present me with a Siamese kitten.
Problem # 1- He has no idea what a Siamese's temperament is like especially
since he is not a cat person.
Problem # 2- He insists that we get a pedigreed cat for a pet. I responded
to this site because I saw the word colorpoint and I wondered if you or anyone
else may know who breeds shorthair colorpoints. I thought maybe a cat that looked
like a Siamese would work. I am open to any suggestions or advice. I don't
like persians so those are out. I also live in south Alabama and am having a
hard time finding cat breeders at all. Please email me at JACNDI1@aol.com
Thank you!

I had a question about this kitten I unfortunately lost at 8 months
of age. He was an American shorthair orange mackerel tabby and I seriously
believe he was mixed with an Oriental. His eyes, ears and shaped nose was
that of the Oriental. His body was long and slender and his personality
was also that of the Oriental. Where is it possible to find another shorthair
American tabby mixed with an Oriental shorthair that is orange mackerel?
If there is anyone out there who can help me in my search I would greatly
appreciate it. I have this serious emptiness in my heart since the loss of
my "Winky" and I just know that if I could find this combination again,
he would be who I am longing for! The Oriental and perhaps even a part
Siamese breed is so special that I know I wouldn't be disappointed.
Please write back if you could. Thank you! Orngewinky

Just wanted to tell you that little Salem
is doing just great! She is here with me now,
playing with the remains of her favorite feather
toy. She loves to bring me those furry mice toys
and is great at playing "fetch"! She is truly the
love of my life and she truly seems to love me, too.
Thanks again for your wonderful cats! We give your
name to everyone who comes to the animal hospital
looking for a great pet! Hope all is well with you and
yours!

You should see Malcom & Dante play, it is too funny, Malcom lays on the floor
and Dante butts him with his head then Malcom bites him or slaps him,
until he gets fed up with Dante. He thinks he is a dog! Got to talk to
him about that.

I just happened upon your beautiful web pages - and beautiful kitties! My 9 month
baby KeeChi had to be put down last Friday and I am so heartbroken.
I have never had a cat before - she was my first and I adopted her as an 8wk. old.
I believe her mother was full Siamese but the Dad - ? Anyway, she was a
beautiful chocolate, was so smart, fetched toys (which I thought was just a
fun quirk until I learned that that is a common Siamese trait), knew her
name, was just all together delightful. She became sick so fast. The vet
said it was a type of Lymphoma. She had had all shots etc. He said it
probably was genetic. Anyway, I live in southern Utah and I guess I will try
to find another kitty. I know I can't replace her but I know I want another
Siamese. Are these types of illnesses common (don't want to go through this
again)? Are there arguments as to whether boys or girls are better or what
are the differences other than the obvious? Thanks for listening. Any Utah
breeder referrals would be helpful.

Will be sending you some pictures of my beautiful Salem!
She is the best surprise my husband could have ever given me!
She has won us over and although she reminds me of my precious Cassia,
she has her own wonderful, playful personality.
I recommend your cats to everyone who comes into Westside Animal Hospital
looking for a kitten. How about a picture of Cassia on your website?
Also, is Galena Salem's mom? Looks just like her! Thanks so much!
